The mission of the Center for the study of violence
To reduce the social and personal burden due to violent behaviors by studying the links between brain, mind, and behavior
Actions pursued by the Center for the study of violence to accomplish this
mission
- Collection, analysis, and dissemination of evidence-based knowledge about the
causes, the epidemiology, and the treatment of violent behaviors
- Research on the causes of violent behaviors, in particular paying
attention to the role of mental disorders
- Co-ordination of the research plans concerning violent behaviors, in
collaboration with private and public schools, health and academic centers
- Training of personnel specialized in the treatment of violent behaviors
in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood
- Updating and communication of evidence-based knowledge on the causes
and treatment of violent behaviors by means of meetings, articles, manuals, and
scientific booklets
